What You Need for the Florida Road Test

The exact documents, requirements and vehicle paperwork to bring so you are not turned away on test day.

Before you can take the Florida Class E road test in Miami-Dade, you need a few things in order. Showing up without them is the most common reason people get sent home before they even start.

Documents to bring

  • A valid Florida learner's permit, held for the time required for your age
  • Proof that you completed the TLSAE (Drug and Alcohol) course and passed the Class E knowledge exam
  • A photo ID and proof of identity
  • Glasses or contacts if your permit requires corrective lenses
  • A licensed adult to accompany you if you are under 18

The vehicle

The car you test in must have valid registration, current insurance, working lights, signals, brakes, horn and seatbelts, and must pass a quick safety check by the examiner. If your own car will not pass, that is exactly where we help - our test-ready, fully-insured vehicles meet every requirement.
